First comprehensive study of W-type W UMa eclipsing binary V1036 Her

CCD photometry of the eclipsing binary system V1036 Her was performed using Johnson V filter in Dr. Mojtahedi Observatory University Birjand during July-August 2017 and July 2018. Moreover, spectroscopy carried out by TRES April A mass ratio 3.07(27)is obtained an initial effective temperature 5500 suggested. For first time, relative absolute parameters are determined analyzing light curve radial velocity data. The results indicate that is a W-subtype W UMa with degree overcontact 22%. analysis period change shows changes rate P˙=2.23(4)×10−7day/year. With assumption conservation, transfer from primary to secondary component m˙1=1.00(3)×10−7M⊙/year probable. Additionally, periodic behavior about 10 years observed O-C curve, which predicts possibility third body minimum 0.14(1)M⊙.

The Wilson-Devinney model along with a Monte Carlo method as the search procedure, was used to derive the physical parameters of this contact system. Contact binaries can be used for distance determinations of stellar systems. They are easy to discover and identify and are very abundant among solar-type stars, particularly for MV > +3. The period–luminosity–colour (PLC) relations have similar properties to those for pulsating stars and can currently predict individual values of MV to about ±0.25 mag.
